Instructions for Use

  1. Wash your hands and ensure the nasal irrigation bottle is clean.
  2. Fill the NeilMed 120 ml (4 fl oz) nasal irrigation bottle with lukewarm distilled, micro-filtered (0.2 micron), reverse-osmosis filtered, commercially bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water.
  3. Open one premixed sachet and pour the contents into the bottle.
  4. Secure the cap and tube firmly, then gently shake until the powder has completely dissolved.
  5. Following the bottle’s instructions, have the child lean forward over a sink and use the rinse gently through the nasal passages.
  6. Allow the solution to flow through and out of the other nostril, where possible, without forcing it.
  7. After use, clean the irrigation device according to the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Important: One paediatric sachet is intended to be dissolved in 120 ml (4 fl oz) of water when used with the corresponding 120 ml irrigation bottle.

Warnings & Precautions

Use only as directed and always read the product packaging and enclosed instructions before use. Never use plain water alone for nasal irrigation. For safety, do not use tap or faucet water unless it has first been boiled for at least five minutes and then cooled to lukewarm/body temperature. Distilled, appropriately filtered, commercially bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water should be used instead.

Do not use the rinse if the nasal passages are completely blocked, or if the child has an ear infection or blocked ears. If the child has recently undergone ear or sinus surgery, consult a healthcare professional before use. Stop irrigation and seek medical advice if ear pressure, significant discomfort or burning occurs. Keep sachets and the device out of reach of children. Adults should read the instructions and supervise children when using the product.

The bottle should be kept clean to minimise contamination and NeilMed recommends replacing the bottle every three months. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor or healthcare professional.
