Description

Opticare Eye Drop Dispenser is a practical eye-drop administration aid designed to make applying eye drops easier, particularly for people with shaky hands, reduced grip strength, difficulty squeezing bottles or a lack of confidence when administering eye drops. The dispenser helps position the bottle accurately over the eye while its comfortable grip and simple squeezing mechanism make dispensing easier. The eye piece rests gently against the brow area, helping to keep the bottle correctly positioned and reducing the risk of accidentally touching the eye. Opticare fits most traditionally shaped 2.5–10ml eye-drop bottles and includes an adaptor for some slimmer bottles.

Instructions

Wash your hands before use. Open the Opticare using the thumb guides and loosen the eye-drop bottle cap without removing it. Place the bottle into the dispenser so that the retainer fits securely around the base of the bottle neck; use the supplied adaptor collar if required. Close the dispenser securely, then open the hinged eye piece and remove the bottle cap. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid and rest the eye piece against the brow area. Gently squeeze the sides of the Opticare to release the eye drop. One gentle squeeze delivers one drop. Replace the bottle cap after use. The bottle can remain in the dispenser until it needs replacing.

Warnings

For single-person use only and do not share the dispenser, as this may increase the risk of transferring infection. Clean the dispenser regularly with hot soapy water and allow it to dry thoroughly; remove the eye-drop bottle before cleaning. Opticare is designed for most traditionally shaped bottles, but some specialist bottle designs may not be compatible. It is not suitable for single-use eye-drop vials or some wide-neck preservative-free multidose bottles. Always check bottle compatibility before use. If you have difficulty using the dispenser correctly, ask a pharmacist, optician or other healthcare professional for assistance.
