Description

Optase Moist Heat Eye Mask is a reusable eye mask with HydroBead Technology, designed to provide soothing moist heat for dry eyes, blepharitis, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), blocked glands, chalazion and styes. The HydroBead technology absorbs moisture from the air and releases a gentle, consistent moist heat when warmed, helping loosen the oils in the meibomian glands so they can flow more freely and support a more stable tear film.

Instructions

For warm therapy: Place the mask flat on a clean microwave-safe plate and heat in an 800W microwave for 25 seconds. Remove carefully and always test the temperature with your fingers before placing it over closed eyes. If it is too hot, allow it to cool for approximately 1 minute and test again. Place over closed eyes and wear for 10 minutes. For initial treatment, it can be used twice daily for 2 weeks, then reduced to once daily or 3–4 times weekly for maintenance, unless advised otherwise by an eye-care professional.

For cold therapy: Place the mask inside a sealable plastic bag and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Remove from the bag and place over closed eyes for 5–7 minutes.

Warnings

Always test the temperature before applying the heated mask to your eyes. Do not overheat, and never heat the mask in an oven, steamer, hot water or by any method other than a microwave. Do not leave the mask unattended while heating. If the mask is damaged, leaking or the HydroBeads appear damaged, discontinue use and replace it. Allow the mask to cool completely before storing. Clean with a damp cloth and, if necessary, a small amount of unscented soap; do not fully submerge the mask in water. Allow it to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before using again.
